Students here at Sunshine were given an opportunity to put their observational sketching skills to test as we brought them out for a fun sketching from reference trip to various landmarks in Singapore - don't worry, we're all masked and social distancing measures have been followed!
Our trips were carried out across two days. Students are provided with a sketching board and other necessary tools required for their artistic creation. Sketching from reference is an essential basic skill required in art where observational abilities in proportions and perspectives are exercised. Though usually, we carry out such activities in our classrooms, it is usually limited to still life studies of objects on a smaller scale. This activity helps to expand the students' experiences in this field and improve their abilities in sketching.
